Brierfield Town Council

Brierfield has its own Town Council consisting of the Town Mayor 12 councillors and a Town Clerk who is our Administrator and Finance Officer. We are able to collect a precept from the Council Tax imposed by Pendle Borough Council which enables us to provide some extra services e.g. grass cutting, Christmas lights and floral decorations throughout the summer.

Although industry and retail outlets have both greatly diminished in the last twenty years there has been an increase in the building of some very desirable executive housing. Brierfield is surrounded by beautiful countryside with outstanding views of Pendle Hill which can be seen from most sites in the town. The combination of the proximity of open countryside has persuaded a good number of professionals to leave the city for an improved ambience and a lower cost of living.This, plus the easy access to the M65 Motorway makes commuting easy.

The older parts of Brierfield, with their stone terraced rows of houses, look forward to an input of Area Development Funding in order to modernise the house and improve their surroundings by creating green, open spaces.

Brierfield is a good place to live and is steadily improving!
